The Ultimate Closet Cleaning Guide 2016

Hello Blogger friends, happy Easter! and it is officially the first week of Spring, doesn't feel like much in Chicago- all due to the reason of it was still snowing yesterday. Seriously Chicago, please pull yourself together- Give me summer already.

Nevertheless, every year during the spring cleaning season, I can hear my closet whispers my name. I swear I am not going insane! swear! But believe it or not, cloth/fiber do need to breathe too. So as usual, I like to go over my closet- in the order of materials from thinnest to thickest; as well as the usage of the garment(often or seldom). And sort it out whether is a keeper or a bye-bye piece. Some garments might need a repair(if I really love it), and some garments were one of those "I have no memory of when did I got it, or rather, why did I even got it in the first place?!".

During the process of closet cleaning, I like to have a specific cleaning routine. Thus, as I looked back on my experiences, I found the below chart is the closest to mine. But the main thing to keep in mind  is whether to keep it, toss it or donate it.

Questions such as:
                    - How Often Did I Wear The Garment?
                    - Does It Still Fit Me?(In Terms Of Size & Style)
                    - Is It Still Age Appropriate? (Can I Wear To School/Work?)
                    - Did I Have A lot Of Similar Style?(If Yes, Should Probably Change It Up A Little)
                    - Can It Be Easily Mix & Match With Other Garment?
                    - Time To Upgrade To A Better Material?

I would highly recommend everyone to go through the list and the chart below, because I can almost promise you, that somewhere inside your closet as you were doing your closet cleaning, you will either found unexpected treasure or loaded of junk. But in the end, it will be absolutely rewarding after you done. And I must admit as I cleaned my closet last week, I managed to found a good amount of garments(9 T-shirts/4 blouses/2 skirts/3 dresses/3 pair of shoes and some jewelries that I worn during high school). I end up donated all to the salvation. And you know what they say: one man's trash is another's treasure. So, if you feel like going in a cleaning mode this week, and looking for a girls date idea at the house(invited them to your house with bottle of wine), this could be super fun for everyone- Yup, just like the episode at Sex In The City. ~ Stay Fashionable. The Rainbow Connection - Oscar Red Carpet Review 2016

In case some of you miss the Oscar last night, let me just simply put in this way: It was INSTERESTING in so many different ways. Interesting in a way Leonardo Dicaprio took home the gold (Hallelujah!) and made a remarkable speech (click on the link to watch the speech). Interesting in a way that it was the most diversifies Oscar show I ever watched. More over, Interesting in a way that there were many awkward moments that should’ve left it out. And last but not least, the fashion trend of this year was quite Interesting.  It was colorful and springish.

I am always a big fan of pastel color. Is clean, is fun, and is elegant. Take Cate Blanchett for example, her Armani Privé blue feather gown was absolutely flattering. From the low V where it compromises with her short wavy hairstyle; the high waist line which created and emphasizes a long leg room; a sparkle bangle for a glam touch up was just perfect. When it comes to tailor made gown, no doubt Armani is an expert in the area. Beside the pastels, with other darker tone gowns, there are two remarkable gowns of the night which caught my eyes: The shoulder-less gown which Naomi Watts was wearing (by Giorgio Armanni), and Margot Robbie’s Tom Ford gold gown was stunning and hangs perfectly in their body. With that being said, a high qualities evening gown shall sew and tailor absolute molded as a second skin to the body.

So fans, does this year’s red carpet meet your expectations?

Fashion Week 2016 - Which One To Look Out For

During this time of the year, I simply felt the excitement as the days goes. Not only there're many of my favorite holidays are happening in February(Chinese New Year and Valentine's day). But mainly, just like many other fashionistas and fashion gurus, this week is where the fashion party started.

Starting with the New York fashion week (Feb 10th-19th); London(Feb 19th - 23rd); Milan(24th - 29th) to Paris (March 1st-9th). The line up gets better as the days goes. Each fashion week have its own personality and style, and if I have to describes each fashion week briefly:

The New York Fashion week will be the "wild, free spirit and rule breaker"; designers from NYFW like to pull the wild card, used exaggerate colors and texture as the main elements. Such as BCBG, Alexander Wang, DVF.

London Fashion Week are "structure, solid and classy". Frequently, you will found LFW designers tends to uses solid colors so that it shift the focus to the details and geometry elements. Such as Burberry, Antonio Berardi, David Koma.

Milan Fashion Week are"Clean, Sophisticate and fitted"; since Milan is very selective on their fabric, which you will expect to find stunning fall materiel such as soft wool as their main ingredient. Designers such as Max Mara, Emillio Pucci, Jill Sander, Ferragamo.

Paris Fashion Week are "elegant, feminine and detail oriented"; PFW are always my favorite- there's ruffle, silk, embroidery. Si Vous Plait, what's not to love?! Designers such as Valentino, Miu Miu, Givenchy, Balenciaga.

I will keep you all updated with my thought as the weeks go. Nevertheless, for further details, feel free to click on the following link regarding on the designers line up schedule : http://fashionweekonline.com/schedule

Oscar Fashion Trend - Just Bead It

Happy Tuesday! The 87th Oscars award was surly a hell of a party. What makes the award fun and enchantment was to watch our favorite movies celebrities take the gold statutes home, moreover, it's always pleasant to looked at actors and actresses all glam up.

The fashion trend for this year’s Oscars were heavily used feminine elements such as the pastel colors(lot of pastel pink); many sexy open back designs and of course the beads. Pastel is pretty and elegant, but for me, I am more a huge fans of texture, such as gowns that makes with lace and bead, it is simply sparkly and it have this expensive look.

Just like the gown that Lupita Nyong’o worn last night, did you know it actually took more than 6000 pearls to make that statement white pearls gown. There is no doubt that The Pearl gown was absolutely flattering and looks amazing on Lupita. Not to mention, the red lace shoulder less gown that Rosamund Pike worn in the Red Carpet were just stunning; bright red color, high split and the lace texture are the perfect combinations for created the perfect gown.

For later this week, I will recreate a blog post that use the Oscars gown elements into the daily life. So stay tune!
