Halloween Costume Elements

Halloween Costume Elements

Halloween Costume Elements by lili-he featuring a leather crossbody bag

Fun fact: October 26 is the National Pumpkin Day. I smells the pumpkin pie already.

I hope I am not the only "growth up" who is excited about Halloween. I mean is the holiday of candiesssss for the love of god! But most importantly, Halloween is the day that we can be someone else. Perhaps someone who has been inspires us- a movie character or a celebrity who's very bad axx. Or a funny cartoon character that you always want to be. Whether is the sexy version, the classy version or the scary version.

My point is October 31st is the day that we can go out side of the box. But, as working for corporate and/or companies that requires dress in business professional. Disappointingly, we have to limit ourselves- only to dress all out after work. So for this week, I combines some of the Halloween elements into the business attires. I guess in a way, we can always cheat a little bit. The trick is to use the main color and play around with it. Take Hulk for example, we all aware when he got angry, he turn green, but still have his purple short on. So to apply to the business attire, I used the green and purple element and apply to the business outfit. That goes the same with The Black Widow and Wonder Woman.

I personally like the super heroes elements, because all the colors are very strong and powerful. And I am all about feminism and empower woman. So to combine the super heroes colors/elements in the business attire, is actually very doable for any other days besides Halloween. Hope you all will have a very adventures holiday. Please feel free to leave your comments if this tips are useful or even there're something you will do differently.

-Stay fashionable. Stay elegant.

Christmas Gift Ideas For Family Members We Loves

Christmas Gift Ideas For Family Members We Loves

I am always a huge fans of holiday. Even thought many people are so not a big fans of it, due to many reasons, such as the hassle for travelling back home; prepared for the huge family dinner, and/or buying the "perfect" Christmas gift. And let's be honest, those really are not the fun parts of holiday. But no matter what, Christmas is a great holiday for reunion, to get our beloved families and friends together that we may haven't seen in awhile. And the fact that getting everyone sitting around the table, have a cup of nice wine, some great hams; and talk about the great things that had happened to them it is absolutely worth all the troubles and hassles.

Personally I believes Christmas is a great holiday to shows our appreciations through gifts. When it comes to being a great gifter, the person should be very thoughtful. I personally believes a great Christmas gift does not have to be expansive, but must be thoughtful! Yes, I am sure dad would be happy to get an ipad air, or mom get a Chanel bag; but in the same time, dad maybe barely have the chance to use any high tech, or mom understand the bag is very expansive so she decided to keep it in her closet only.

In the past, I had gave many gift advises (for Christmas, birthday, valentines's day, some even for anniversary-tsk tsk tsk, seriously?). To start the whole process, the first question I always ask is what do they like; what's their current job occupation; daily habit; personality and so on, thanks to those marketing courses I took from school. My advice is to take some good notes and observations, what are they into and what do they need. Such as for those whom always cold, can't go wrong with apparel(jacket, gloves, hats, warm socks); and for those who like to exercises(gym membership, gym apparel, message certificate). The main point is just be thoughtful, because that's the point of Christmas and holiday, to let the receiver know that you been thinking about them and how much you care.

It has been an amazing year, I wish nothing but the best to my blog fans and thank you guys for being such a great supporter. Happy holiday to you all and may you guys have a great Christmas!

Yves Saint Laurent Spring Collection

In the fashion industry, there are a lot of famous fashion brands and they been in the fashion industry for quite some time. Such as Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Alexander Mcqueen, Dior and of course Yves Saint Laurent; which I am always a big fan of the brand. YSL is one of the fashion brands that still maintain their style and quality. It is always been elegant and ladylike; with each season, YSL always surprise us by using new material and add some new fashion element that are ladylike.

Just like the current 2013 spring season, YSL use a lot of ruffle, organza, bow and chiffon in dresses and blouses. This element brings a spark to the collection. All this dresses and blouses are semi-see through, the trick with see through fabric is they can cover the odd spot (such as having a bigger waist), which the fabric will make your body proportion looks longer and slimmer.

Not to mention, the accessory collection are ladylike but yet playful; the dark oversize hat that cover quarter of the face create a magical illusion, it actually made the actual size of the head seems smaller. Also, long tassel necklace teams with bohemian dresses, tassel with black wide belt works great together, is not just chic but also bold.

Move along, the spring collection is not entirely girly, but it had inspires by the boyish style. The blazer are using straight shoulder (by apply a thin shoulder pat); this brings a confidence and independent personality into the outfit. Last but not least, jackets are inspired by the western cowboy style; with some half cut packet and some leather piece as the major element. Obvious is a drama series and we expected to see more the summer collection with the same spirit.

Side Note:

If you notice, I always mention the word "elegant", and here I ask, what’s elegant to you? I could not express my strong emotion enough to people who gives an odd Fashion Comment of “a girl that wear a cheetah coat with black over knee boot and bright red lipstick” is elegant; Very interesting. Well, that doesn't seem elegant to me, but surely is a “wild one”.
